For this project, we supplied a trade client who was carrying out a door installation for a major automotive manufacturer operating in a high-traffic environment. The end user’s existing roller shutter doors, which were frequently left open for operational flow, caused substantial heat loss. Their location near a river exacerbated the issue, leading to cold working conditions for employees.
This prompted the need for efficient fast action doors at four vehicle access points (two entry and two exit) to improve temperature control and maintain a smooth workflow.
Our technical assessment led to the specification of the LBS PVC Speed Door. The LBS team chose this for its dual capability in optimising temperature management and traffic flow.
With the LBS PVC Speed Doors’ rapid action, it can limit cold ingress in exposed locations. Furthermore, the zip curtain system provides superior sealing, creating a barrier between the external and internal environments.
The fast action also enables the client’s vehicles to move through the openings quickly and seamlessly, improving workflow and operational efficiency. This is supported by integrated radar movement sensors, which allow for fully automated, touch-free vehicle access.
For added operational safety, the LBS PVC Speed Door incorporates a flexible bottom edge to prevent potential damage to the vehicles.
The installation of our LBS PVC Speed Doors effectively addressed the client's heat loss issues. The fast action and superior sealing of these doors have significantly improved temperature control within the manufacturing unit, enhancing conditions for the employees.
Furthermore, the automated operation has facilitated a smoother and more efficient flow of vehicle traffic, contributing to overall operational improvements. The inclusion of safety features, such as the flexible bottom edge, also provides added value by minimising the risk of damage to vehicles.
