THE STORY SO FAR...
In the early 1980s, our managing director Laurence Bird, was manufacturing and fitting window grilles and roller shutters for a company in Romford, Essex. After gaining valuable experience he decided to go it alone and then LB Securities came to life!
Working out of a small workshop in Gerpins Lane, Upminster, LB Securities manufactured and installed burglar bars and roller shutters to commercial and residential properties around the local area.
Continued success meant that in late 1983 we became a limited company. We took on more office staff, more engineers, bought a new fleet, and had to move to a bigger office in Wantz Road, Dagenham.

A few years flew by and the company grew from strength to strength. Organic and acquisitional growth supported us in purchasing Russell Shutters, Randford Doors, and Olsen Shutters, who at the time were very successful roller shutter and door companies. This expansion birthed the name “LBS Group” which we now trade as (officially LBS Security Services Ltd). Martin Olsen, previously of Olsen shutters, joined the ever-growing team as our operational manager and enhanced our service before his retirement in 2016.
With the company booming and the requirement for more desk space seemingly never ending, we found ourselves needing to move offices again. This time, just a short walk around the corner to our current home on Sterling Industrial Estate. Which boasts a huge factory and warehouse with 3 floors of offices.

In January 1998, we earned certification from the LBCP / BRE. This allowed to manufacture & install fire-resistant roller shutters, a product we are well known for. The addition of this to our portfolio has made us very popular with several other roller shutter and door companies, who buy them from us at trade prices!
The LPCB certification joined the long list of accreditations that we’ve been awarded and retained for many years. Some of which include ISO 9001, ALTIUS, EXOR, CHAS, SAFE CONTRACTOR, CONSTRUCTIONLINE, and Door & Hardware Federation (DHF).
Fast forward nearly 40 years, and we’ve established ourselves as one of the largest roller shutter and door companies in the south east of England, providing a full manufacture, install, maintenance and repair package. Nationwide coverage and an impressive 24/7, 365-day a year emergency callout service.
