Roller shutters at Borough Market
Located at the southern end of London Bridge, the Borough Market is a successor to one that was first mentioned in 1276, although the market itself claims to have existed since 1014. In the 20th century, it was essentially a wholesale market, selling produce in quantity to greengrocers and now mainly sells speciality foods to the general public.
For this project, LBS Group supplied and fitted 73 solid steel rolling shutters LBS SHOPGUARD shutters customised with 1m high section of brick-bond pattern rolling grille curtain for display purposes and are self-supporting with 4-sided casings made secure with lockable manual override devices to ensure that the shutter will open or close in the event of power failure.
In June 2017 following the terrorist attack, LBS quickly carried out repairs to damaged shutters to ensure that the market could continue to be secure.
